COGGES:

Parish Activities

Cogges Toddler Group
Cogges Toddler Group meets at 1.30pm each Tuesday in term time in the Cogges Church Centre. We aim to provide somewhere that Mums and carers can come and meet others with pre-school children. The group is an ideal place for a small child to learn to play, socialise and try their hand at simple arts and crafts. We are a church-based group run by volunteers. Each session includes refreshments and ends with a singing time.

Parentalk Course
Parentalk is ideal for any parent who wants to discover ways to build on the relationships they already have with their children. Over 5 two hour sessions, it uses video, discussion and practical exercises to look at common experiences and dilemmas, and ways to cope with them, in a relaxed, informal environment. [More >]

The Marriage Course
The Marriage Course is a very practical course giving any married couple the tools to build a strong and healthy relationship. Over a series of 7 evenings many topics are covered including 'building strong foundations,' 'resolving conflict' and 'love in action'. Each evening includes a talk and time for the couple to discuss the topic together. Coffee, tea and home-made cakes are served during the evening. The setting is relaxed and informal, there is no group discussion and privacy as a couple is always respected. For further details please contact Paul or Judith Ledden on 01993 779021.

Cogges Seniors Group
The Cogges Seniors Group meets on the second Friday of each month (except August) at 2.30pm at Cogges Church Centre. Come and meet with your friends, have a chat over a cup of tea, enjoy some varied social activities with a short talk at the end. Transport can be provided for those unable to walk to the Centre. Please contact Elizabeth Williams on 01993 773096 or Kathleen Townsend on 01993 704056.

Parish Care Group
Through the Care Group, members of the church seek to serve the whole parish of Cogges. If you are lonely or bereaved, need a lift to church or hospital, or have a problem you would like to discuss, or would appreciate a meal for your family when the usual provider is ill, the members of the Care Group would like to help. We would love to see more people joining the regular helpers. Please contact Elizabeth Williams on 01993 773096 if you feel you may be able to help in any way, or if you would like help from the Care Group.

Junior Church
Junior Church is for children from toddlers up to age 13 who meet in groups on Sunday mornings at St Mary's during the 11am service, to learn more about God in ways appropriate to their age group. Contact David or Ruth Lockwood on 01993 700025.

Activities include worship, Bible study, prayer for each other and the wider world, and also social activities. Homegroups offer an environment for members to share their needs where they can be met in an atmosphere of love, trust and confidence. Contact Miri Keen on 01993 773844.
