The Gathering The focus for the October gathering was children and young people's ministry. Here are some of the things we prayed about: Schools on Madley Park -for developing relationships with St. Mary's. CYFA- that young people would be involved in the life and work of the church. Youth Pastor - that we would reach our financial target. JAM that there would be sufficient helpers. Here's how God answered our requests: Schools on Madley Park - Andrew Pritchard has been invited by the Head Teacher of Madley Brook to become a Governor. Andrew Pritchard has been added to the Assembly panel at Springfield School CYFA- Ellen Leafe, a member of CYFA led worship at 11am service last Sunday JAM- Jam have had enough helpers every Sunday Evening Youth Pastor-We can fund a Youth Pastor for four years and 8 months. At present we have shortfall of ?6700. We give thanks to God for how he has heard and answered our prayers. At last week's Gathering we prayed for the church and its relationship with the community and the town. As we waited on God we were drawn to the words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, that we already are the light of the world and we must not hide the light. The light must be seen. Also a picture was shared of a dam with a large crack appearing in the middle of the reinforced concrete. The water was starting to escape and find its way into the valley. Might this have been a picture of the lives of Christians when they try to live independently from God. We guard our hearts for fear of losing control and it is only when the cracks begin to appear that God can fulfil His purposes in us and through us. The next Gathering is on Epiphany - Wednesday 6th January. 1 1
