THE CHURCH AND YOUTH: Sunday Club - Youth Clubs - Toddlers Group - Holiday Club

Our aim at Sunday Club is for the children and young people to learn about God and Jesus in a fun way, through Bible stories, games and activities, and in a way appropriate to their age.  We use material produced by Scripture Union, called Light.

We currently have 4 groups –

BUBBLES (3 & 4 year olds)

SPLASH (5, 6 & 7year olds)

XSTREAM (8,9 & 10 year olds)

THE GRID (11 – 14 year olds)

We also have a less formal group for older teenagers, which provides space for them to discuss and explore their faith outside church services but with the freedom to go into a service as and when they wish.

Each group has at least one leader and one helper each week, and we encourage leaders to alternate their weeks to allow them time to go into church themselves.

Sunday Club meets during the main 10.00a.m. service.  It is held on the 1st, 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month.  The children start in church with their families, and leave for their groups after the first 10 – 15 minutes.  They are looked after in their groups until collected by parents at the end of the service.

On the 2nd Sunday of each month there is an All-Age Worship service, and many of the young people are involved in this.  They help lead worship, play in the music group, or take part in dramatised readings and prayers.  When there is a fifth Sunday we have a Family Communion service, so there is no Sunday Club.
