Facts about Twyford's Bells

The tower was built in 1910 after a long campaign by the Vicar of Twyford, the Rev. R W Acworth whose long term aim was to have a peal of eight bells. The £700 needed was raised fairly quickly because the bells were dedicated on Easter Tuesday 1913.

The bells were cast by Mears and Stainbank at the Whitechapel Bellfoundry in London. The inscriptions on the bells and their weights are:

The Bells are a first floor ring with the tower accessed from the Church Centre round the far side of the Church. The bells are still hung on the original plain bearings.
