Annual Fair and Flower Festival
What St Giles' Fair is:
For centuries, showmen and hucksters have gathered in and around St
Giles on the first Monday and Tuesday in the week after the 1st
September to celebrate St Giles day (1 September).
This can be as late as 8th September in some years.

If St Giles day itself falls on a Sunday (which is the first
day of the week), as ordained by ancient statute, this means that the
celebrations take place in the next following week!
St Giles Church is always open to refresh weary souls on both days, and plays
host to an attractive Flower Festival.
